Furchick (Australia) [Volta] Furchick aka Claire Pannell is a prolific Australian experimental sound maker working at the crossover between art and science. She creates her sounds using field recordings and live looping instrumentations, incorporating a DIY and punk attitude into her creations, focusing on polyrhythms and vocals. She has often taken her other sounds from the natural vibrations created by everyday objects from foley techniques, and at other times worked with more traditional instruments. Performing regularly, Pannell has an extensive catalogue of music making dating back to 1987. She runs international net label Dog Park Records. She is also a science communicator with her specialist skills in hands-on STEAM maker and tinkering workshops that incorporate arts, technology and science.
